Summer Wedding Showcase: Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 January, 2026
The wedding industry’s best suppliers, planning, venues and events where you can discover each venue in the Maleny Wedding Festival Trail and everything the region offers for your special day.
Australia Day Event: 28 January 2026
The Australia Day ceremony, flag raising and citizenship ceremonies will be undertaken at the Showgrounds. Apex will be running its Big Breakfast and the popular ‘passport’ system – that encourages the community to have conversations with groups would also be back.
Bunya Dreaming: Now biennial. Sunday 31 January, 2026
Bunya Dreaming is a biennial event to celebrate the harvest of the iconic Bunya Tree. It is a family friendly day out that celebrates and honours the significance of the iconic Bunya in First Nations culture.

Maleny Film Festival: TBA 2026
The Maleny Film Society’s annual Australian Film Festival is held each year at the Maleny Community Centre in Maple Street. The link to the Maleny Film Society provides information about fortnightly screenings and special events.

Sunshine Coast Ukulele Festival: TBA 2026
Come and enjoy individual artists and groups when Sunshine Coast Ukulele Masters presents this festival at the Kenilworth Showgrounds in 2024.
Anzac Day Services: 25 April annually
ANZAC Day Commemorative Services are held each year on 25 April. The link to the website of the RSL Maleny Sub Branch will provides times and locations of services.

Maleny Quota Quilt Show: BIennial . Next event 2026 – TBA
Quilts are displayed from the many talented Hinterland quilting groups, and merchants tempt you with their wonderful fabrics and notions.
Horizon Festival: Friday 1 May – Sunday 10 May 2026
This 10-day multi-arts festival takes place all over the Sunshine Coast and the Hinterland. The varied events are in spectacular locations, and there’s music, art, theatre, dance, workshops, and ceremonies .
Maleny Arts and Crafts Group Autumn Fair: TBA 2026
Maleny Community Centre, 23 Maple Street, Maleny. Buy beautiful gifts handmade by our talented members at our MACG Gallery. Open each day from 9am-4pm.
Open Studios Sunshine Coast: TBA 2026
Open Studios Sunshine Coast offers an opportunity to see behind the scenes, attend workshops and to meet and buy works from the region’s talented artisans.

Kenilworth ArtsFest: Friday 22 – Sunday 24 May, 2026
Enjoy a huge range of exhibitions, competitions and workshops. Artists can enter their paintings in a range of competitions for the chance to win major cash prizes.

The Maleny Show Society brings you the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s premier Agricultural Show.

Kenilworth Quilt and Craft Show: TBA 2026
The Kenilworth Quilt and Craft Circle hosts the annual Quilt and Craft Show at Kenilworth Community Hall. Locally made quilts and crafts are displayed.

Maleny Artisan Winter Creative Markets & Workshops: TBA 2026
Handmade, unique, quirky! Find something to suit your personality or buy a gift or simply take something home with you that is handmade in Maleny and surrounding areas. Held at the Maleny Community Centre, 23 Maple Street, Maleny.
Knitfest Yarn Market (Formerly Knitfest Yarn & Fibre Arts Festival):
Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 July 2026
A fibre art and craft focussed market over two venues at Maleny State School, 16 Bunya Street, Maleny and Maleny RSL.
Queensland Garden Expo: 10-11-12 July, 2026
Nambour Showgrounds. This four-day expo is Queensland’s premier gardening event attracting visitors from all over Australia. Some of Australia’s leading gardening experts will take part in four days of lectures, demonstrations, and workshops.
Muscle on the Mountain: TBA 2026
A great event held at the Maleny Showgrounds with plenty of vehicles to look at and drool over. A must for car buffs. This is a fundraising event for Prostate Cancer Foundation, raising funds and awareness of Men’s Health.

Paws of Thunder: TBA 2026
Spend time with your dog and your family at the Maleny Showgrounds oval, 13 Stanley River Road, Maleny. ! All proceeds raised go to Maleny APEX. Bring your pooches of all shapes and sizes. Some food and market stalls will operate.

Kenilworth Show and Rodeo: TBA 2026
A great day out for the family – horse events, rodeo, woodchop, chainsaw post ripping events, pavilion exhibits, sideshows, pig racing, laser light show at 7.15pm, bar & band till 10pm.

Maleny Garden Club Spring Fair: Saturday 3 October 2026
A Garden Market at the Maleny Showgrounds followed by private open gardens providing an opportunity for locals and visitors to the area to see a number of beautiful gardens at the one time.
Maleny Wood Expo: Friday 16 – Sunday 18 October 2026

Having been held at the Maleny Showgrounds since 1996, It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that Barung Landcare has made the difficult decision not to proceed with the Maleny Wood Expo in May 2025.
The Rangebow Festival: Friday 9 – Sunday 18 October, 2026
A diverse and creative not-for-profit festival at multiple sites across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The program features film, theatre, arts, taste, music, nature and cultural events to celebrate community, diversity, inclusivity, reconciliation, sustainability, creativity and expression.
Lions Welcome Event: TBA 2026
This annual event is staged to welcome all newcomers to the Maleny and surrounding communities. Newcomers are given an information pack and have the opportunity to meet other new-comers & locals, local business owners, members of community organisations and local residents.

Maleny Handmade and Artisan Markets – Christmas Fair: TBA 2026
Hosted by the Maleny Arts and Crafts Group this event is held annually in the Maleny Community Centre, Maple Street, Maleny. Come and do your Christmas Shopping early or treat yourself!
Maleny Music Festival: TBA 2026
Held at the Maleny Showgrounds, 13 Maleny Stanley River Rd, Maleny. This weekend Festival Event is filled with many talented musicians, performing arts, market stalls, workshops and chances to try out lots of new experiences.
Sculpture on the Edge:
Saturday 29 November – Monday 7 December 2025
A renowned annual sculpture competition hosted by Arts Connect Inc at Flaxton Gardens. Artworks include indoor and outdoor sculptures across a variety of media. The 2023 program includes the annual exhibition, workshops, artist talks and special events to create a deeply immersive creative experience.

A once a year event at the Maleny Community Centre, 23 Maple Street, Maleny. Open daily except for Christmas Day. Vintage and retro clothes, furniture and collectibles, pop culture, music, posters, vinyl and CDs. 9am-5pm daily.
Maleny Late Night: Friday 12 December 2025
Late night shopping on Maple Street, Riverside Centre, RSL. 5pm-8pm..
Woodford Folk Festival:
Saturday 27 December 2025 – Thursday 1 January 2026
The Woodford Folk Festival is held annually over six days and six nights. The festival programme features concerts, dances, street theatre, writers’ panels, film festival, comedy sessions, acoustic jams, social dialogue and debate, folk medicine, an entire children’s festival, an environmental programme featuring talks, debates and films, art and craft workshops, circus performances and workshops, late night cabarets, parades and special events.
